The location was very good.
Taxis. Can't accerss hotel- have to take owm luggage through stteets. The room was cramped amd ahabblily furnished. Bathroom tiny - had to sit sideways to use toilet.. Very expensive for what it. Was. Restaurant service very poor. This hotel is just a tourist trap (room 43 offers no value for money
Very helpful and friendly staff and the amazingly good location - a real pleasure.
Smallish room and tiny bathroom.
Decor of hotel. Beautiful old building. Excellent Location. Could hardly be better for visiting the old city. It is a small, quiet hotel, not an "international" hotel. No TV in rooms (which pleased us, it is not a criticism). Friendly staff. Large garden (although in March it was a bit too cold to sit out much.).
Not having coffee/tea making facilities in the room (a small point)
Location, Atmosphere, home feeling
Needs some renovation (ie carpet of stairs),Better breakfast
All the staff were so pleasant and quite helpful. The location was absolutely fantastic. The garden out back for dining was beautiful too.
The proximity to the best sightseeing in Istanbul and the garden.
A little outdated furnishings and accessories.
A perfect boutique hotel in the very centre of the old city. Each room filled with antiques and individually decorated. A glorious garden in which to dine, filled with trees and birds and flowers and an ancient marble fountain. Lovely greenhouse. Perfect staff. Miraculously and happily there is no television. Would recommend to anyone who has an ounce of romance in their soul.
A very friendly hotel in a wonderful location, and a lovely building lovingly restored and therefore quite atmospheric. If there is one criticism then it is that our standard double room could have been a little bigger. However this is a minor criticism as the room was perfectly adequate and more than compensated for by the hotel being so covenient for most things a visitor to Istanbul would wish to see.Highly commended.
Convenience to all major sites of interest and shopping, restaurants etc. has large beautiful garden for outdoor dining relaxation and relief from bustle of city. Staff very helpful and friendly. An oasis. Free wifi.
Does not have television in rooms or anywhere, is this good or bad? We did not mind!
Lovely outside garden area and in a good location to be able to walk to the main tourist attractions.
We were in a top-floor (Level 4) room - we had to move out the furniture to fit our luggage in the room! Also - the bathroom was very small and the toilet badly located in that bathroom so one had to sit sideways on the loo as there was not room for one's knees!! It was very expensive (E200 p n). The food (breakfast) was not up to the standard of our other accommodations in Turkey and dinner menu not great so we did not dine there.
Lovely people and excellent service. Wonderful garden/wintergarden dining facilities. Unbeatable location for tourists to Istanbul.
It was old worldly with lots of charm
Breakfast non so good
It is a beautiful place in a wonderful location with an excellent staff
location, location, location, charming building, generally friendly staff, cleanliness
poor value for money (maybe just Istanbul; don't know to compare); breakfast no more than average quality; one or two examples of poor directions given; demand for tips on check-out. I would recommend to certain types of traveller, with qualifications (see answer below)
